Within the framework of the GDPR and data protection regulations and the Federal Data Protection Act (DPA), you will find the necessary information to ensure the proper processing of your Data in the remainder of this document.
Use of our Services implies your consent to the collection, use and processing of data and information from you, your activity on the Services or about you. By accessing and/or using our Services, you confirm and agree to the processing of your Data as defined in this document.
We and/or our Partners may collect data that can both identify you directly, such as your email, name, etc., and indirectly. The collected data may be sent to servers located outside of Europe or Switzerland. In particular, some of our platforms have their host in France, or other services may transmit data to the United States.
We and/or our Partners may collect Data as soon as one of our Services is also on another website that you visit. However, this collection is very limited when there is no interaction with our Services. Nevertheless, it is the duty of the person managing the site where we are integrated to ensure that you accept our conditions before charging our Services.
When you interact with our Services, we and/or our Partners may collect the data necessary for that interaction to take place as desired. For example, when you write a comment, we collect, in particular, the text of the comment, the time of the comment, the author, etc.
When (and not exclusively) you respond to surveys, post information or texts, change your settings, or contact us, the data provided in these various interactions is collected.
While using our Services, We and/or our Partners may ask you to provide us certain personal data that can be used to contact or identify you. Personal data may include, but is not limited to:
We and/or our Partners collect information from or about computers, tablets, telephones, or other devices where you install or access the Services. Your IP address, the identification number of your device or browser, or the characteristics of the device or software through which you access the Services may be collected in order to identify your session, to identify you, to facilitate certain settings (e.g., identify your language) or to show you your active sessions. We and/or our Partners may also deduced your approximative geographical location with your IP address in order to fulfill the objectives described in the section “Data processing, for what purposes?”
We and/or our Partners also collect data related to your activities on our Services, such as the frequency and duration of your activities, page views and network status (in order to try to minimise your Data download when you are in 3g for example).
When our Services allows identification to our Services via external services such as (but not limited to) the Twitter Login and you use such services, we and/or our Partners may collect your ID and username for the service in question. We and/or our Partners may also collect, if you allow it, information that you agree to share with us, such as your email address or date of birth or the list of your friends and other specific data on which we or the external service suggest you to share with us..
In general, if you authorize third party services to share data with us and our Partners, we and/or our Partners may use this data and combine it with other information collected about you. However, we will not access external databases without your consent.
In order to store preferences, and to collect data, we and/or our Partners may use processes similar to those used by many online companies and services, such as cookies or the following elements. This enables us to improve our Services, but also to protect them or simply to offer them. Thus we and/or our Partners may also adapt the content and advertising (if activated) to your profile.
These are small data files stored on your device's hard drive. They allow us and/or our Partners to better understand your interaction with our Services or the different usage patterns. Our cookies may store some of your information, such as your username or an identifier. This makes it possible to personalize the content in particular. You have the right to decide whether to accept or reject cookies. You can exercise your cookie preferences by clicking on the appropriate opt-out/managing links provided on this page (domainname/CG).
Authentication cookies: Because these cookies are strictly necessary to deliver our Services to you, you cannot refuse them. You can block or delete them by changing your browser settings however, as described above.
Types of cookies
There are several types of cookies, those that allow the Services to work properly, those that allow the Services to be personalized, those that measure audiences, those for advertising or tracking purposes, and those for social networking purposes.
However, all these cookies do not come from the same sources, in fact on the same website you can have cookies from us or from our Partners, so we distinguish between internal cookies, deposited by us, and third party cookies, deposited by Partners.
The lifetime of cookies varies according to their function, indeed some cookies (known as session cookies) do not last longer than the time of your visit, but other cookies, allowing for example to record information during a first visit may persist and thus allow to "remember" your last choices when you return.
With your web browser you normally have the possibility to block cookies on our Services. However, without cookies, we cannot guarantee that your visit will be successful, as some of our Services may no longer function.
Internal cookies are essentially functional, here is the list:
They allow you to access your Account and keep your session open from page to page.
They allow you to change some aspects of our Services, such as the language, the state of the chat (open or closed), some security parameters or certain data concerning you, for example to be able to say "Welcome YourName" where YourName is replaced by the value of the cookie.
These cookies may also allow us to display a certain type of content rather than another based on what we know about you, for example, to offer you the category "all posts" rather than the front page category if we see, for example, that you are taking the time to view all the posts.
Third party cookies include cookies from our Partners
Deposited by third party content in our advertising locations, which locations partially fund the Services.
These advertising cookies make it possible to count the advertisements displayed, to identify them, or to count their respective display, as well as the number of people who clicked on them or consulted them, or the number of people who were redirected by these advertisements and the actions taken afterwards on the places where you were redirected. This allows the advertiser to know how much it owes to the various persons concerned by the display of these advertisements or to establish anonymous statistics.
These advertising cookies not only make it possible to prevent the repeated display of the same advertisement, they also make it possible to display content in the advertising slots according to, for example, your location; this is therefore targeted advertising, which you can deactivate.
They are therefore functional cookies, enabling actions such as those defined for internal cookies to be carried out.
To the extent that we do not control the purpose of third party cookies (including third party advertising cookies), they are subject to the policies of the third parties that have deposited them.
Similar to cookies, these technologies store information on your device and may record certain information about your activities and preferences.
Local storage as well as cookies are often accepted by default by your browser, please modify your browser settings to change this. However, no longer accepting cookies and local storage from our Services may affect your ability to access our Services.
These identifiers are used, stored and processed to identify you, so you agree that we may formally identify your device. Third parties we work with may also have access to this data because we use some of their plug-ins on our applications, for example Google Firebase, which allows us to send notifications.
It also collects and processes information such as advertising identifiers or the way your devices interact with our Services.
When you refuse to accept our cookies or did not accept them yet, we will normally not allow our Partners’ services to be loaded on our Services and therefore to analyze your visit or make marketing research and storage on you.
Cookies are not the only way to recognize or track visitors to a website. We employ a software technology called clear gifs (a.k.a. Web Beacons/Web Bugs), that help us better manage our Services and Subscription Service by informing us what content is effective. Clear gifs are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, and are used to track the online movements of Web users. In contrast to cookies, which are stored on a user's computer hard drive, clear gifs are embedded invisibly on Web pages or in emails and are about the size of the period at the end of this sentence. We use clear gifs or pixels in our HTML-based content to let us know which topics have been accessed by recipients. This allows us to gauge the effectiveness of certain communications and the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns. We tie the information gathered by clear gifs in emails to our customers' Personal Information.
By accepting our cookies or completing one of our data form (like Newsletter or course registration form) you accept all the following points about our Partners or subcontractors:
Facebook pixels and other third parties cookies which serve a purpose of advertising, this include the collection of your information regarding your online activity on our Services but also on other website you are visiting. Informations collected by these third parties on other websites may then be used to display ads on our Services or on other websites.
Third party cookies are used on our Services to collect information for statistical purposes:

This company provides us and/or our Partners may statistics and analysis about how many people are visiting our Services, for how much time, and also some demographic informations like language, location, internet supplier, etc.
The Google Analytics anonymisation function is activated by us, this result in a better privacy of Your Data: your IP address is shortened by Google if you are in a member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the European Economic Agreement Area. In some exceptional cases, the full IP may be send to a Google server and shortened there, the server may be in the USA. Google uses this information.

The "tracking pixel" from Facebook is also integrated in our Services. This pixel can be used to track our users and therefore how they act after being directed to our Services through a facebook/instagram ad or link. This is done in the purpose to allow us or our Partners make measures on the effectiveness of our partners’ ads or ours, and therefore to optimize our advertising by making market research and statistical analysis based on this information.
Data collected by the tracking pixel from Facebook are anonymized to us (we are not able to see personal information of individual users), but Facebook does process and store these data on their side, which, as long as we know, allow them to link collected data with your Facebook account and use it for other advertising purposes the wish to do, according to their data usage policy.
Facebook has other tools we or our Partners may use as "Custom Audiences" and "Website Custom Audiences". These tools may generate a non-reversible and non-personal checksum (hash value) according to how your use data, this can then be sended to Facebook for analysis and marketing purposes.
You may choose to refuse this use at:

Then the Facebook service will look which data the system already know and then put these users in a facebook list, which will after that allow us to create marketing campaigns and make analyses. Our uploaded list is deleted by facebook after the list is created.
You may contact us to delete informations or to prevent us from uploading some of Your Data on the Facebook list system.

This enables the improvement and development as well as the provision of the Services. It also makes it possible to monitor the performance of the Services and content, in particular in order to customize them. For example, we may personalize the recommendations we make to you by using this information to better understand how you use or interact with our Services. For example, understanding your interests allows us to offer you the opportunity to join a band fan of Alphorn if we find that you play it.
However, we do not analyze for personalization purposes your private conversations or the text of your comments or posts (this is understood to mean the Services’ post publishing feature and not all of your posts such as a response to a survey or the publication of your friends list, etc.). An anti-spam or security analysis is also performed on these contents, it can also be performed by humans designated by us and/or our Partners.
We and/or our Partners may use, in particular, your Data for the following purposes:
However, we and/or our Partners will normally collect personal information from you only where we and/or our Partners have your consent to do so (via cookies, double opt-in forms, or signed forms and agreements), where we and/or our Partners need the personal information to perform a contract with you, or where the processing is in our and/or Partners’ legitimate interests and not overridden by your Data protection interests or fundamental rights and freedoms.
In some cases, we and/or our Partners may also have a legal obligation to collect personal information from you.
If we ask you to provide personal information to comply with a legal requirement or to perform a contract with you, we will make this clear at the relevant time and advise you whether the provision of your personal information is mandatory or not (as well as of the possible consequences if you do not provide your personal information). Similarly, if we collect and use your personal information in reliance on our legitimate interests (or those of any third party), we will make clear to you at the relevant time what those legitimate interests are.
The data we and/or our Partners collect about you may be shared with third parties such as other Partners, government authorities or service providers and advertisers, and these data may or may not identify you. However, the third parties with whom we share certain data must adhere to strict confidentiality obligations.

We and/or our Partners may share or transfer your personal information in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of Company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business to another company.
In addition, when you explicitly agree to the sharing of certain data with certain parties, then weand/or our Partners may do so. (e.g. by allowing a third party to access certain information about you)
If a third party plugin is used on our Services, it is rare that we provide data directly to it, but nevertheless, since it is on our Services, it can collect data from you directly or indirectly, which is tantamount to being able to qualify as data sharing.
Our Partners allow you to improve the Services or even add options thanks to their various plugins. Information about you can be shared with them, anonymous if the use is not directly related to the operation of our Services, but identifiable if it is (for example, sending a notification requires that Google Firebase, our notification partner, can identify you).
Our Partners may also provide us or our Partners with technical or physical infrastructures, such as assistance in payment processing (Paypal or StarPass for example) or assistance in data analysis and management, but also help us to host and store data, make it accessible, secure it, or provide customer and technical service. However we and our Partners must respect strict confidentiality obligations in accordance with the law.
Google Gsuite/Gmail is our Partner for the sending of our emails, this paragraph is not really relevant as a partner, this contract already defines the rules that apply, but we wanted to make sure a second time that you are aware that even if you do not have a gmail address, gmail, via our sending address, will see our emails and the emails you send to us, pass through their services.
When you share personal information or otherwise interact in the public areas with other Users, such information may be viewed by all Users and may be publicly distributed outside. If you interact with other Users or register through a Third-Party Social Media Service, Your contacts on the Third-Party Social Media Service may see your name, profile, pictures and description of your activity. Similarly, other Users will be able to view descriptions of your activity, communicate with you and view your profile.

Pages are not allowed to use your Data for other purposes than these you accepted.
When you browse our Services, Iframes may appear and integrate Services that are not ours, these Iframes are easily recognizable by the red banner they carry meaning that the content is from a third party and that you should not share your password. As this content can be freely integrated, neither we nor our Partners are responsible for it. By passing your mouse over, interacting with or simply opening these Iframes, you are then subject to the conditions of use and data processing of the content of these Iframes.
On our applications, the equivalent of Iframes can also be freely integrated, therefore WebView, which are also indicated as containing content not related to our Services and therefore subject to their own policies.
By sharing content posted on our Services or by using our identification service on other platforms or third party identification services, your activity on our Services and certain login information may be shared with or received by us (and/or by our Partners) from such third parties. Data such as your email address, age, etc. may also be shared with these third parties with your consent.
In addition, by visiting our Services while logged on or via third party platforms (such as Google), they may retrieve certain data about your browsing within our Services.
It is strongly recommended that you consult and understand the Privacy Policies and settings available on the platforms of these third parties, insofar as you have accepted them by registering and logging on to them. This will allow you to understand how they track you on other services such as ours and why there may not be much you can do about it if you want to use their resources.
We and/or our Partners may share data collected from or about you in hashed, aggregated or anonymized form to measure and improve the effectiveness of content. In the case of an advertiser, we and/or our Partners may indicate how its ads are delivered and how many people viewed them or installed the products being offered after viewing the ad.
We and/or our Partners may also disclose demographic or audience measurement information that does not personally identify you to anyone with a valid reason (example: Your video was seen by a 22 year old man from Geneva), this allows us to better identify the audience. (Usually, such a precision is only present in case of real interest, otherwise it will be "Your video was seen by one or more young men from the Geneva area").
All audience measurements, once anonymized, aggregated or chopped, can therefore be shared with those who have an interest in consulting them.
If, in the event of legal proceedings, legislation, or government action, we and/or our Partners are required to provide data or information, this may be done, but you may not be informed or given the opportunity to withdraw your consent.
We make every effort to avoid and minimize the risk that your Data may be lost, damaged, stolen, or misused.
In order to secure your Data, we and/or our Partners use a number of technical, administrative and physical means to protect your Data in our possession.
Only persons who have a legitimate reason to access the data, can have access to your Data and/or non-public data.
In order to protect your Data, your connections to access the Services we offer are secured via HTTPS or other similar protocols. In addition, we also hash and encrypt certain sensitive data such as your password. Our firewalls ensure that only persons who can legitimately access the Services and Data can do so.
However, in the 21st century, and as you probably know, even the biggest ones can be flawed. For this reason, we cannot contractually promise you rock-solid security in data transmission and storage. We hope that you can trust us when we tell you that we are doing everything we can, but unfortunately it is impossible for us to guarantee the absolute and infallible security of your Data.
If you have an Account on our Services, you can view, download or update your Personal Information online through our Services or by contacting us if such an option is not available.
Please note that the Parent Designation feature, as well as the Account Login feature on a page, allows you to access Accounts that are not controlled solely by you as an individual. Thus, Accounts that you give third parties access to in this way may be accessed in whole or in part by these third parties, but you or your parents remain responsible for any actions taken through your Account.
We are committed to respecting your privacy, so we also comply with the provisions of the "Privacy Shield" program between the European Union and the United States, and Switzerland and the United States.
We do not improperly store data, however, we believe that the time it takes to provide our Services may include the fact that some data may still be stored after your Account is deleted, for example for backup or legal purposes, but also for simplification when some data do not belong to you exclusively. We allow ourselves one year to completely delete your Account if you have requested us to do so, as this allows us to keep our backups for a period of time that we consider reasonable in the event of a problem. Beyond one year, certain anonymised and aggregated data is kept for statistical and other purposes permitted by law.
If the deletion of a data is not possible, then we will securely store your Data and isolate it from any further use until deletion is possible. We retain your Data that you provide to us where we have an ongoing legitimate business need to do so (for example, as needed to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements).
When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your Data, we securely delete the information or anonymise it or, if this is not possible, securely store your Data and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible. We may delete this information at an earlier date if you so request.
If you have opted in to receive marketing communications from us, we retain information about your marketing preferences for a reasonable period of time from the date you last expressed interest in our content, products, or services, such as when you last opened an email from us. We retain information derived from cookies and other tracking technologies for a reasonable period of time from the date such information was created.
Pages may export collected data from our Services, so remember that by completing any form on any Pages you are also sending your Data to these third parties which you will have to contact directly if you wish to apply some of your specific rights. We cannot be held responsible for any error/problem in the processing of Your Data or the collected information by Pages.
Our Services may display third party advertising, which sometimes allows you to interact with it in the same way as Iframes.
When viewing an advertisement, if the advertisement is enabled on the Platform, whether or not you click on it, the advertiser or the provider of the technology enabling the display of the advertisement may collect information about you. The processing of data by these third parties is governed by their own Privacy Policies.

For Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ads/website_custom_audiences/
Clarification: the previous paragraph is intended to protect us from any change in our Partners’ policies we might not be aware of. In practice, our Partners are selected and integrated after we have ensured that their practices are in compliance with our Policies. However, as their own policies may change on their side, or as it is not impossible that we have made an error in our interpretation of their practices, it is not impossible that a discrepancy may arise. Therefore, you also agree to comply with the policies of all third parties listed on this page (domainname/CG) as being part of our Partners.
We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies or practices of any third party sites or services.
Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13. We also may limit how we collect, use, and store some of the information of users between 13 and 18 years old. In some cases, this means we will be unable to provide certain functionality of the Service to these Users.
If we need to rely on consent as a legal basis for processing your Data and your country requires consent from a parent, we may require your parent's consent before we collect and use that information.
If you are a minor and either your country does not have a legal definition of "numerical majority" or you do not have one, then you are not allowed to use our Services or even register or log in without the permission and involvement of a parent or legal representative.
If you are a parent or legal representative, you may find more information about your possibilities as a parent on our Services (domainname/parents). However, this information shall not be interpreted as being contractual.
As legal representative, you are authorized to, if the plugin allowing it is activated and your child accepts it and is aware of the implications of this action, create a Parent Account, which allows you to access your child's Account at any time. Even if he or she changes his or her password. This is one of the exceptions to the contractual rule that only one individual can access a User Account.
You have certain rights regarding the Personal Information we and/or our Partners collect or maintain about you. Please note these rights are not absolute, and there may be cases when we decline your request as permitted by law.
You are under no obligation to provide us with your Data. However, if we and/or our Partners do not collect certain data, automatically or otherwise, it may be impossible to provide you with some or all of our Services.

(For EU visitors) - If we have collected and processed your personal information with your consent, then you can withdraw your consent at any time. You have the right to complain to a data protection authority about our collection and use of your personal information.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us. we will respond to your request to change, correct, or delete your information within a reasonable timeframe and notify you of the action we have taken. Or you may or may have to use one of our automated systems.
You may unsubscribe from our marketing communications by clicking on the "unsubscribe" link located on the bottom of our e-mails, updating your communication preferences, or by emailing us
Via your Account, you can set your preferences regarding the receipt of emails or communications from us and/or from some of our Partners . If we offer targeted advertising, you have one or multiple options to disable it.
you may request access to your Data from us, as well as request the update, deletion, correction or transfer of such information.

You can delete your Account from our Services at any time, this is done via your Account or by contacting us if such an option is not available. Consequences of an Account deletion:
Some details on this last point: In order to provide a quality service, we make backups. In the event that at time x you delete your Account, but at time x+1 we suffer a technical failure such as the failure of one of our hard disks and we have to make a restore, if the backup we have is dated x-1, then your Account will reappear.
