Rooms Professional Diploma

18 months - 3 Certificates - 1 Diploma

With this Diploma programme, you will acquire the competencies and the knowledge required to be fully operational in different functions of the Rooms Division department, following the standards of first-class hotel operations.

At the end of the Diploma, you will also acquire a better understanding of the management of the Rooms department.

After graduating from this programme you will have the potential to take on supervisory roles in the front-office or housekeeping operations and be able to work independently. The course content is benchmarked on the Swiss vocational competency framework for Hotel Specialists.

Learning Methodology

Delivery modes

The learning methodology for the certificate includes a blend of knowledge-based learning and skill-based learning. Delivery of knowledge will be facilitated through the use of blended learning using digital content disseminated via a learning management system (LMS). You will be required to prepare for class by engaging with the digital learning before going to class. The foundational knowledge that has been acquired via the digital material will then be reinforced in class time via active learning activities organized by a facilitator. Guided practical sessions under the supervision of a rooms professional in a mock-up front-office, housekeeping and laundry environment will facilitate the acquisition of competencies. Processes and standards of operations will also be distributed digitally so that you will have constant access to those standards for review and learning.

Foundation Certificate

Benefits

In this first certificate, you will acquire the basic understanding of working in the Rooms department and will focus on acquiring competencies to work in housekeeping and laundry. This will be reinforced by a 3-month internship.

Min 16 years old by the beginning of the module for Ohma Oradea candidates / min 18 years old by the beginning of the module for Ohma Belgrade candidates

Benefits

After having acquired the skills to operate independently in a hotel’s back-of-the house, you will acquire the competencies at the front-desk to welcome guests and perform check-ins & check-outs. This will be then also reinforced by a 3-month internship.
